I have a question about LGBT characters/candidates/dragons/Impressions!
Whoa, slow down! We've got you covered. These sorts of questions are extremely common, especially on new games, so we've got a thorough explanation of everything If you've still got questions or concerns, feel free to PM Rannoch and we'll get it settled.
How will Impressions of staff characters be handled at Weyrd Science?
Same as any other Impressions, with one notable exception: staff will not receive any clutching dragon, or queen wher or firelizard, at a Hatching. (Green whers and firelizards, being common as dirt, are fair game.) If staff need an NPC clutcher because a PC is not available, one will be brought in as an adult via transfer.

Additionally, staff characters do not count against availability for members. As a general rule of thumb, for anything that a staff member makes for themselves, at least one will be made available to members.
I want my Candidate to Impress a gold. What criteria are you looking for?
Well... first of all, you've gotta ask for it. We're probably not going to give golds to people who have never expressed any interest in playing one, because there are people who do want one, and it doesn't make sense to give it to someone who's not particularly interested.

After that... patience and a positive attitude. It might take a few clutches for your dragon to turn up, but that's no different than any other game. We're not looking for the most active members, or the best writers, or anything like that. If you intend to be writing babies, it would be in your best interests to be kind to other members. You're going to be making dragons for them, after all, and a good clutchwriter should want to make people happy. Apart from that, though - you don't need to do anything special to "earn" a gold. Hatchings are not contests.
Something happened in a thread that made me uncomfortable. What should I do?
First of all, we're sorry that happened. It shouldn't. We're hoping it doesn't.

What happens next... kind of depends on what sort of thread it was. If it's a plot thread, or something that staff are running, please contact us immediately so we can get it fixed. If it's a private thread with another player, we recommend you try to talk to the other player first, if you are comfortable doing so - most folks don't want to hurt their fellow players, and chances are they didn't realize they upset you! You are also welcome to contact staff to arbitrate for you if you'd rather not do it yourself.

If it is a thread on the explicit board that you're not part of... well, the explicit board is a little bit 'anything goes'. Obviously we'll crack down if things start getting out of hand. But otherwise, the happiest solution may be for you to just not read that thread. We promise nothing plot-crucial is happening in there.
