D'ulf didn't mind early mornings except when those mornings were started with him being called to the Infirmary to help with a young boy who'd decided it was a good idea to climb a cliff and fall off. D'ulf had dealt with him well enough then he had trudged home back to his place with K'lan, he loved his weyrmate dearly and would rather spend time with him than not because he was sure that K'lan would help him. He stopped by to tend his garden for a moment before he continued on in the door, he sighed heavily as he walked towards their bed he wasn't even paying attention if K'lan was in the weyr or not.

He stripped off his boots and tossed them in the corner as he groaned softly, he wanted to spend some time with just K'lan. Was that really too much to ask for? He sighed as he glanced out the door at his dusty dragon, Emilith watched him with an amused expresssion the bronze was tolerant because he wanted to go cuddle with Lyxiath. He wanted his own chosen blue because he was sure that was going to be there a while or so he hoped. Lyxiath? Where are you and yours? Because D'ulf could use some attention by K'lan and I'd like to cuddle. The Bronze sought out the pair that they both wanted so they could spend time together after earlier that day.

K'lan was used to early mornings. It was a hazard of having such a dedicated healer for a weyrmate. He'd never minded it, knowing that D'ulf wouldn't be D'ulf if he didn't respond to the emergency calls. Besides, the experience with being awake earlier than most stood him in good stead now that he was Candidate Master. There was still so much to do with his new job before he could settle into something resembling a true routine, and even once he had, he would need to be getting up early anyway in order to watch over his charges. He had expected these early days to be hectic. What he hadn't expected was how much fun he was having with it all. Sure, some of the kids were more troublesome than he remembered being when he was a candidate (though Lerian claimed that was a case of time dulling the memories and that he had been as troublesome a youth as any healthy weyrbred lad), but he was doing well enough with them he thought. It would just take time to settle on the right blend of firm but friendly.

He was already heading back to his weyr for a break when Lyxiath informed him that D'ulf was looking for him. Lyxiath had just fed and been bathed, and the blue had been planning on lazing in the water for a while, whilst K'lan had wanted to go home and be dry.

K'lan is on his way Lyxiath informed Emilith as he waded out of the lake. As appealing as being in the water was, being with his bronze was far more so. Beating his wings, he took to the air, quickly over taking his ground-bound rider to land before his mate.

You're dirty The blue stated, walking forward and leaning in to sniff at the bronze What have you been doing that gets you dirty? Dirty as in messy? Well that happened all the time. Dirty as in actually covered in dirt? Not so much and Lyxiath's eyes whirled with curiosity about what Emilith had been up to.

K'lan took a moment to thump his dragon on the shoulder as he walked past. "Could have stopped to pick me up" He said, though his tone was more amused than annoyed. The exercise is good for you Lyxiath replied Besides, you were not that far

"D'ulf?" K'lan called the man's name as he walked in, pulling off his soaking wet shirt and dropping it in the dirty clothes hamper as he set down his things. Kes flitted ahead of him, the little gold going straight to the bronze rider and chirping up at him for pats.

"Hey" K'lan smiled softly as he followed the queen's movement and spotted his weyrmate. "Tough day, huh?" The man's expression was understanding. "Want to talk about it? Or do you want distraction?" Some people might not understand how two such different people as K'lan and D'ulf could work together, but this, right here, was a part of it. K'lan understood that sometimes the stress needed to be talked about, or worked out in other ways, and sometimes just a simple distraction was enough to let it slip away. D'ulf's craft wasn't an easy one, and K'lan did what he could to ease the younger man's burdens.

D'ulf knew that Candidates were a handful and a half he had to put up with healing ailments from them and some were even a fib to get them out of lessons. He hadn't responded to one of those today thankfully, he was tired and wanted rest but he knew that he had duties to perform especially one to his dragon who needed a bath. D'ulf sighed as he watched Emilith for a moment longer, he knew when his bronze had contacted Lyxiath. Now that his boots were off he pulled off his shirt, he prefered to walk around his home without a shirt on just his pants it was a conveinence of having a private space.

At the message from Lyxiath, D'ulf had smiled once Emilith relayed it. He saw the Blue join his bronze and smiled broadly it was a sharding good thing that Emilith was the way he was because otherwise K'lan and he may have had a conflict when Emilith was younger. For now he knew that K'lan would be here sooner than he'd thought.

I was playing with weyrbrats, children wanted to try and play bury the bronze. Emilith told the blue his own eyes whirling slowly in his sedate mood, he didn't want much at the moment which was good for all involved. It meant that the humans could laze together and enjoy each other's company.

D'ulf smiled as he heard K'lan's voice, that was a sound he'd never get tired of hearing especially when it said his name. Kes came to him and smiled as he started scritching her behind the headknobs softly, he knew how to handle the queen by now he'd been seeing her long enough.

D'ulf smiled at K'lan happily even as he was tired. "It was hard because the patient didn't want to listen. Then I had a candidate come in and try to get out of lessons because their stomach hurt." He said softly as he looked at K'lan, his expression soft and fond even as he thought about the morning. "A distraction would be nice, just spending time with my weyrmate and being away from the infirmary would be wonderful at least for a few candlemarks." D'ulf told him with a grin, he really did want him there and he knew that these moments were why they worked so well.
